Mr. V.K Mathews is the Chairman & CEO of IBS Software Services,  a company that provide new generation IT solutions to the Travel, Transportation and Logistics industry. Mr. Mathews has guided the IBS from a modest beginning in 1997 into a multinational organization with over 2000 employees operating from 12 locations world wide – in USA, Europe, Middle East, Africa, India and Japan. Today the group competes with the best and largest companies in the IT product space and has as customers some of the world’s best airlines, busiest airports, leading cruise lines, top oil & gas companies, travel distributors & hotel groups. Over the past 8 years, IBS  has acquired five global companies. In the year 2007, PE major General Atlantic LLC had invested USD 60 million in IBS, one of the largest investments in an IT product company in India.

Mr. Mathews is a thought leader in the global aviation industry and is a sought-after speaker at various international events. He holds several important posts in Government agencies, academic institutions and trade bodies in India. Mr. Mathews is a recipient of a number of awards from the Government, media and trade associations including management leadership award, IT man of the year award, millennium leadership award and enterprise excellence award.

Mr. Mathews started his career in 1979, teaching computer science to army officers. In 1981 he joined the IT division of Air India and played a key role in the implementation of computerized passenger services systems world-wide. In 1983 he joined the Emirates Group where, as the General Manager – IT, he championed formulation and implementation of Information Technology strategies for the airlines global operations.

Beyond business, Mr Mathews has a keen interest in social development and education, and has set up CANDLE, (acronym for Care and Love) an initiative that helps provide education and healthcare to under-privileged children. His other interests include reading, especially books on business leadership and management, traveling and music.

Mr. Mathews is a graduate in Engineering and has completed his Masters in Aeronautical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
