THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Group of Technology Companies (GTech), the industry body for IT companies in Kerala, has partnered with Red Hat, a leading global open source software company, to create enhanced awareness on various open source technologies, amongst IT professionals in the state.
The series will include lectures, seminars and presentations spanning internet of things, artificial intelligence, analytics, development tools, content management systems, desktop publishing and other connected topics.“It is our endeavour to provide IT companies with platforms to move up the value chain through new skill acquisition and enhanced value creation. Partnership with Red Hat will not only contribute to building a pool of highly skilled open source software technology professionals in Kerala but also drive companies into new business opportunities,” said Suri Amarnath, convenor of the technology focus group of GTech and CEO of Thoughtline Technologies.
“Educational events include workshops and coding events like hackathon which enable professionals to gain an introductory knowledge of a relevant technology. Long format programmes will have multiple sessions and different modes of engagement”, says Thomas P Thomas, co-convenor of the technology focus group of GTech and CEO of Zyxware Technologies.
The MoU will facilitate partnerships between Red Hat and GTech member companies around commercial services, research and product development in open source software technologies. The series will be launched on November 27 with a session for CXOs of companies at Technopark.
