Roads

Kerala has a total road length of 173,592 km and the road density in the state is 446 km per 100 sq km. There are 8 national highways in Kerala with a total road length of 1,524 km.

Railways

Kerala have nearly 2000 railways stations covering the entire length and width of the state. The entire length of the railway network in the state is 1.148 covering 13 railway routes.

Airports

Kerala has 3 major airports at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode. A fourth Airport is coming up at Kannur.  The three International airports handled 2.8 million domestic passengers and 4.5 million International passengers in 2009.

Ports

Kerala has one major port in Cochin and 17 minor ports along the 585 km coastline. An international container Trans-shipment Terminal is coming up in Vallarpadam in Cochin.

Power

Kerala has 32 power generating stations which include 26 hydel power stations, 5 thermal power stations and 1 wind station with an installed capacity of 2662.2 MW. Kerala Government is planning to set up a 4000 MW power project in the next 7 years.

Telecommunications

Kerala have a tele density of 52, the highest in the country. VSNL has an international communication gateway at Kochi, with two high-speed submarine cable landings (SEA-ME-WE-3 and SAFE) offering high speed bandwidth.
