IBS Software adds JetBlue to list of Global Customers
Source : Business Line22 June 2010: IBS Software, IT specialists for the global aviation industry, has inked a deal with JetBlue Airways, the New York-based low-cost airliner.
This would represent a deeper penetration of the US aviation market by the Technopark-headquartered travel, transportation and logistics player, a company spokesman said here on Monday.
LEGACY SYSTEM
The announcement was made in Washington DC at the recently-concluded Air Forwarders Association meeting, he added.
Under the contract, JetBlue would migrate from its legacy system to IBS’ iCargo platform to manage its cargo operations.
Built on new generation technology, iCargo is an integrated solution designed to handle the cargo movement requirements of full freighter carriers, passenger and cargo combination carriers.
It also takes care of ground handling agents and airports in the areas of cargo sales and reservations, CTO, cargo revenue accounting and ULD management – all enabled in a single seamless solution.
Winner of the ‘IT systems provider of the year’ at Air Cargo India 2010, iCargo is fully compliant with IATA initiatives such as Cargo 2000 and e-freight.
CUSTOMER LIST
iCargo’s customers include leading names such as Qantas, Tokyo International Airport, All Nippon Airways, Kingfisher, Austrian and Nippon Cargo Airlines.
JetBlue, the latest, is one of the leading low-cost carriers in the US connecting 61 cities with over 600 flights every day.
Designed for multiple users, iCargo is extremely user-friendly, especially for a system that handles such a complex business as moving cargo.
There was just no other solution that could compare with IBS’ iCargo solution, according to Mr Ed McDonald, JetBlue Cargo head.
VALUE PROPOSITION
We are delighted that JetBlue has selected iCargo to partner it in its aggressive growth plans, said Mr Akshay Shrivastava, Senior Vice-President and Global Head of cargo line of business, IBS.
This decision once again underscores the compelling value proposition offered by the IBS cargo management system and its competency to implement and support sophisticated solutions within scheduled time frames, he added.
