Acccentia Starts operations from Kollam Technolodges
Source : Business LineThe Technopark-based Accentia Technologies has kick-started operations at the recently inaugurated ‘Technolodges’ at Kadakkal and Perinad in Kollam district.
The Technolodge is a State Government initiative to take software exports business to small towns and villages and encourage BPO companies to operate from low-cost centres and create employment in rural areas.
The Technolodges has been planned to be set up wherever unutilised land/buildings are available with Government/local bodies.
COMMON FACILITIES
The Technolodges at Kadakkal and Perinad have common facilities such as discussion rooms, pantry space, wash area and reception, an official spokesman said.
The Kerala State IT Infrastructure Ltd (KSITIL) has implemented the Technolodge project.
The State Government intends to set up around 100 Technolodges. Over 60 panchayats have come forward offering facilities to set up Technolodges.
Accentia Technologies specialises in end-to-end business process management solutions for the healthcare, financial and insurance sectors.
Around 300 employees can work across three shifts at these centres. We have already appointed 50 professionals at both the locations, said Mr Pradeep Vishwambharan, CEO, Accentia Technologies.
These pros have been undergoing training at Technopark. The company will recruit more from Kollam district and hopes to complete the process by the end of the third quarter.
The professionals are being trained to cater to non-voice legal and business transcription, Mr Vishwambharan said.
Accentia is listed in the Bombay and Singapore Stock Exchanges and employ over 5,000 professionals globally.
UDYOG RATTAN
Mr Vishwambharan was recently conferred the Udyog Rattan Award by the Institute of Economic Studies for the company’s outstanding contribution to the growth of IT/ITeS industry in the country.
Accentia was the first company that came forward to set up a BPO in Kadakkal and Perinad.
Mr Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark, hoped that Accentia will encourage other IT companies to set up similar centres in rural Kerala.
The State Government invested Rs 18.5 lakh towards refurbishing the building at Kadakkal while the investment for Perinad was Rs 27.4 lakh.
The value of these buildings will be treated as the Government’s share in the equity of KSITI where the State Government will fix the value of the land/building in consultation with District Collector.
