HCL Tech fires up IT stocks with 17% jump in Q3 net profit

NEW DELHI/MUMBAI: Higher income from managing desktops and servers and providing applications for clients helped HCL Technologies beat estimates for the third quarter and drive its share price higher. India's fifth-largest software services exporter on Wednesday laid to rest concerns over its profitability with a 17% sequential rise in net profit in the March 2011 quarter while operating margins expanded 100 basis points to 17.3%. Accenture in talks for 60% in Subex

New Delhi: Bangalore-based operations and business support systems provider Subex is mulling sale of 60% stake to a strategic investor. Global management consulting and technology services firm Accenture is learnt to be the frontrunner for buying the stake in a deal that could be in the range of R500-600 crore. Infotech Enterprises plans to strengthen engineering focus

Indian IT firms outpace global rivals in growth

Wipro looks to gain ground in BFSI segment

Wipro is trying to strengthen its presence in the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) segment by increasing its revenue share on par with other leading Indian information technology (IT) service companies. Zinnov survey lists Wipro as top global R&D service provider
